Aran - Realistic Action: After a long gap, Malayalam mega star Mohanlal is back in Tamil with Aran. A bilingual (Tamil and Malayalam) has story, screenplay and direction by a former army man Major Ravi.

The story is about the commandos and military men who toil to keep our borders safe from the minatory moves of terrorists and other enemy forces.

There is more than a veneer of realism as Major Ravi, who has seen it all in real life, has painstakingly worked on the script and story.

Jeeva, on a high after the success of Raam hopes to recreate the same magic, says, "It’s a fascinating experience to do a commando character alongside a seasoned actor like Mohanlal. Never felt burdened by the heaviness of the role keeping in mind the footage and the realism of the storyline. Much of the shooting was confined to the sensitive India- Pakistan border and Ladakh with the army ensuring full protection".

"Mohanlal plays my mentor in the movie and I enjoyed every moment acting with such a talented actor. It has been a learning experience for me", he adds. Furthermore, the movie would not just be an action-entertainer but would also have romance and sentiments.

Mohanlal is paired with Lakshmi Gopalasamy, a newcomer to the Tamil industry. Jeeva and Gopika team up for the first time.

In the impressive list of the supporting cast are names like Reema Sen, Delhi Ganesh, Cochin Hanifa, Biju Menon and Ganja Karuppu with the Hindi actor Nawab essaying an important role.

The other credits are Thiru (cinematography), Pa Vijay (lyrics), Gokul (art), Prem and Kala (dance), Sakthi (stunt), V Jaishankar (editing) and Joshua Sridhar (music).
