Prakash Raj's `Duet Movies` Mozhi audio was launched today (Feb
4) morning at Sathyam Cinemas. It was virtually a farewell party
for Jyothika, the last of the leading ladies in Kollywood. The
film which has been advertised as her last release is sure to
reap rich dividends.
Jo and Surya were attending a filimi function in Chennai, after
a long time and were the cynosure of all eyes. Jo dressed in a
pink sari looked visibly tired and everybody knew she was in the
family way. She was away in Mumbai for the past one month,
staying with her mom. Contrary to reports in the local press,
that she was consulting a Chennai based doctor, Jo was seeing a
leading Mumbai based gynecologist. |

Everybody made it Jo's day, as speaker after speaker at the
function sang hosannas about her performance in Mozhi. On Friday
night there was a sneak preview of the film, which was attended
by Kanimozhi, Chief Minister Karunanidhi's daughter who herself
is a poet and a woman activist.
At
the function, Kanimozhi said that what made Mozhi memorable was
Jyothika's realistic performance as a mute. In lighter vein she
said she has a grouse against Surya for marrying Jo, as he had
nipped the career of a fine actress!
Vairamuthu who has written some very meaningful lyrics which has
been tuned by Vidyasagar, said that if he is nominated to this
year's National Film awards committee, he will recommend the
Best Actress Award to Jyothika!
The rest of the film unit like hero Pritviraj, producer Prakash
Raj, director Radha Mohan also spoke highly about Jo’s
performance in the film. The guest list included director
Shankar who officially released the audio and the presenter of
the film Pyramid Natarajan. Four melodious and well picturised
songs were screened for the invitees.
Jo was also given a memento by director Priyadarsan who had
introduced her to cinema. The icing on the cake was when Priyan
commented that Jo is the best! |
