Captain Vijayakanth's much-hyped Sabari went to floors at a grand function held
in Chennai on Sunday. Being the 150th film of Vijayakanth, its producer
Salem Chandrasekharan is planning to make it a mega-budget movie. Attended by
the cast and crew of the movie, the first shot of the movie featuring
Vijayakanth was shot on Sunday.
Vijayakanth, who celebrated his 52nd birthday at his Assembly constituency
Vridhachalam on Friday, was brimming with joy. Speaking on the occasion,
Vijayakanth expressed confidence in the abilities of director Suresh, who
directed movies like Arasu and Gambheeram before.
Dwelling on the movie, he said, 'I play the title role. The movie is about a
social issue quite typical to the likes of my earlier films Ramana and Vallarasu.
My role has come powerful and dynamic'. Vijayakanth assured that the movie
would be a real entertainer besides sending a strong message to the masses.
Sabari features Jyothirnmayi and Malavika as heroines with musical score by Mani
Sharma.
Thanking Vijayakanth for giving the opportunity, Suresh, said, 'It is a powerful
story which is tailor-made for Vijayakanth'. Expected to hit the screens early
next year is Sabari. |
