Director Shankar’s next film has been titled Veiyyil starring the young artists Bhavana and Bharath. Veyyil is Shanak’s third movie, after the successful productions of Mudhalvan and Kadhal under the banner S Pictures. The cast of Veyyil includes Pasupathy and Shreya Reddy in vital roles. After Boys and Kadhal, it's three-in-a-row for Bharath in Veyyil with Shankar. Shankar’s Kadhal was a runaway hit last year.

G. Vasanthabalan will direct the movie. Shankar’s directorial venture Sivaji starring Rajinikanth is shaping up well. Expectations are high on his next home production Veyyil being directed by his one-time associate Vasantha Balan

The movie revolves around the life and culture of the people in Virudhunagar, which experiences a notoriously hot climate throughout the year. A.R.Rahman’s 19 year old nephew G.V.Prakash is composing music for this movie. Shooting for the film will commence from early November. One song sequence will be shot at Prasad Studios, Chennai. Then the crew will shift to Tiruvannamalai, where the entire film will be completed.
